DERMANS have been in business since 1969 and engaged in large projects throughout  RSA.  Work has been undertaken in the heavy earthmoving and excavation field in all types of material. The fleet of machines that we operated included all types of self propelled rollers, single and twin engine motorized scrapers, heavy bulldozers, heavy excavators, large draglines, a full range of heavy construction plant and large mobile and track mounted cranes.

Projects undertaken included supply of heavy equipment on the Saldahna Sishen railway line. Supply of cranes assisting in the erection of the Caltex refinery and the Tank farm.

Excavation of the Standard Bank centre down to approx 14 metres in soft and hard rock within an anchored cut-off wall. Supply of equipment to M & R for excavation of the Civic Centre Cape Town, BP Centre, Absa Building, Shell House amongst others

DD Materials has machinery to mix all type of dry cementitious products The range includes special shotcrete materials for low rebound and high strength. Premixed plasters and cementitious pool paints in various colours. This economical product requires limited surface preparation and is very easy to apply. Self levelling screeds and high strength flooring materials. Pumpable grouts manufactured to suit special applications.
DD Materials have acquired two large surface grinders for maintaining rubber pads and steel plates for gunite machines and we offer a quick turnaround time.
Phoenix Shotcrete is a joint venture between DD Material Suppliers and Delta Blue Construction Products. Darius Herbst and Carlos Alves have been extensively involved in the concrete and mining industry with specific areas of expertise in the placement of concrete and shotcrete. Work on the mines and construction sites included training of shotcrete crews in wet and dry applications. Other projects completed were the setting up of batch plants including technical input for concrete mix design and materials being used on Khatse Dam and transfer tunnels on the Lesotho Highlands water project. Projects undertaken since our joint venture was formed are at Tygervalley, a development requiring aerial shotcrete including colour matching to adjacent rock. Mgenei Viaduct Inanda Durban.
